This original post-war brick house is situated on a beautiful leafy block at the foothills of Mount Ainslie. The owners had completed a small renovation in 2015, but as their family has grown, so has the needs of their home. Now having two young children, these clients were in desperate need of reworking their interior spaces to work more functionally for their family.

The brief was fairly simple, with the requirements being - a larger dining space to accommodate big family gatherings, updated bathrooms, a more functional laundry, a dedicated study, a guest room for extended family to stay, whilst enhancing the connection of their interior spaces to their beautiful garden and retaining the existing kitchen as much as possible. During the renovation the clients also had a desire to improve the efficiency and comfort of their home, by switching to electric appliances, upgrading, and adding insulating wherever possible, installing solar panels and water tanks.
